Inspired by the town of Lapwai, Idaho. Lapwai means “Butterfly” in Nez Perce. Majestic like a butterfly, this piece contrasts a rhythmic A section in D-Major with a lyrical B section in B-minor. The B section has tricky slurs and shifts in 2nd and 3rd positions.
